Elainy Lopez is a Guatemalan-American illustrator and art educator based in Dallas, Texas. She has a BFA in Studio Art and BA in anthropology from Southern Methodist University and MA in Art Education from The University of Texas at Austin. Her illustrations focus on the interaction between nature and humans, showcasing the wonder and vibrancy that can be present in nature. Her work, whether art based or research based, is also influenced by her Guatemalan heritage. Her mediums of choice include watercolor, block printmaking, oil painting, colored pencils, digital painting/drawing, and ceramics. When she isn’t making art she can be found reading, learning something new, or spending quality time with all her pets.
